What's Next?

David B is supposed to be here tomorrow to begin land grading. I thought I'd post some picture of what our driveway and yard looks like before he begins.

Floors with First Coat of Finish

Ricky put the first coat of finish on the TV room, hallway, and master bedroom floors today. Because I can't walk on the floors, I only took pictures of  the hallway and TV room.  Ahhh...don't they look good!

Gutters

Bo and Sean installed gutters on the house yesterday. Also, the painters are trying to find the right color green to paint the firewood door on the chimney and the doors that lead to under the house.

Floors

Ricky started sanding the floors in the rest of the house earlier this week. He had to move everything that had been stored in those rooms over the past few months into the great room and dining room. While Waldo has now settled down and Wilma has been resting on the new covered porch, Wendi (the dishwasher) has been on the prowl. She had been camping out in our bedroom but has now migrated to the great room/kitchen area. She is hoping she will eventually be returned to her original place in the kitchen.

The armoire that goes in the bedroom had to be moved.

Doors, light fixtures, trash can, etc had to be moved out.

Wendi is so happy to be close to moving back in.
Yes, those are the cabinets, but I'm not posting anything
about them until I know for sure they are staying.

Shutters and Stairs

The house was given another face-lift today both outside and inside. Bo and Sean put up the shutters outside and Ricky worked on the stairs inside. As with the siding, we decided to break the mold and go with an unconventional type of shutter. We chose a board and batten 3 spaced boards type of shutter. Ricky put the newel post and treads (the horizontal part of the steps) in today. These are the original threads, which he refinished a couple of weeks ago.

Doug made another trip out to the cabinet place today and was told the cabinets are supposed to be redelivered tomorrow! Let's hope that Danny sticks to his word and if they are delivered that we can keep them this time!
