We have FURNITURE!!!!!!

On Oct. 31, 2010 Doug started moving furniture out of the house into the pod. Seven months later on May 31, 2011 Lazboy (no, not Doug), delivered the furniture that we had ordered on April 9. We finally have chairs, couches, and bar stools to sit on, rugs to cover the floors, and end tables to hold some amazing lamps. Our house has changed drastically over these seven months. Doug and I look at each other and wonder if this is really our house! We still haven't completed everything but we are getting much closer.

We are still waiting on a few more pieces to finish up things in all the rooms. Doug is doing his inspection on all the furniture and tables. I'm just hoping he won't send anything back (there is a scratch on the mirror in the TV room but Lazboy has promised to fix it or replace the mirror).

Kristen's Shower Gifts

Kristen had a wedding shower this past Saturday and had lots of friends & family to give her some wonderful gifts. Thanks to all the hostesses:  Jane-Asher,  Dahl, Cindy, Jennifer, Lynn, Wendy, Elaine, Brenda, Lacy, Denise, Libby, & Heather. Here are some pictures of her gifts.

New Stove

Doug decided to take a break from the grill for a night and try out the new stove.

 Then the next night he went back to grilling and we had salmon and salad. We have changed up our menu just a little now that we have a working kitchen. Instead of just chicken and salad we now have salmon and salad or shrimp and salad. Once in a while we'll even have steak and salad. We can also eat on real china and use real silverware!

Bedroom and Dining Room

Slowly but surely we are getting things back in order. The dining room table and part of the bedroom furniture is in.

We're still missing window treatments and and a rug but
at least we have a place to sit.

We got the bed set up so we can now sleep in
a king sized bed. Ignore the bedding and window treatments...
that will all change eventually.

Our House

Long time no see! Here's a quick update as to how things are looking at our house. We're waiting on our greatroom and TV room furniture to arrive and we're still unpacking kitchen stuff.  The land grating is complete so Doug now has to decide how he's going to landscape the yard.

The old refrigerator is still on the porch. It will be moved so
we can see out the kitchen window.

a larger one on the mantel and all the wires will be hidden in the mantel.

for added light and so Polly Ann can see in.
If you look closely you can see PA out the door.

a key combination so when we lock ourselves out we
can still get in (as long as we remember the combination).
